It’s not really lobster but you’ll think you are eating it with this rich, buttery fish recipe. Monkfish has a “meaty” flesh that is very similar to lobster which is why it makes it good substitute (at a fraction of the price).

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound monkfish filets
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • paprika
  • parsley sprigs
  • lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Place the monkfish fillets in a shallow baking dish. Evenly drizzle half of the butter over the fish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and paprika as desired.
  3. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 15-20 minutes, basting occasionally with the butter from the pan.
  4. When the fish is done (it should flake easily with a fork), remove from the oven. Garnish it with parsley and serve with lemon wedges and the remaining melted butter for dipping.
